About the Author

John S. Viehweg was born and raised in the Rocky Mountain West, but has traveled widely, including a six month study abroad program in Israel, and a two year stint living in Japan.  He is now married for the second time, to Deborah, and they are proud parents of a combined family of 12 children.  John is an avid outdoorsman, and enjoys sports and outdoor activities of all kinds, including skiing, sailing, tennis, fly fishing, and camping or backpacking with his family.  He lives with his family in Eagle, Idaho in the same home in which the events depicted in this book took place.  He is currently directing a project dedicated to building legacies by recording and preserving family stories and life lessons for future generations.
